Language level
CELI 1 enables learners to meet their basic communication needs in Italian. They are able to communicate in everyday situations using basic language.

Usefulness: CELI 1 is the first of five international Italian diplomas of the Università per Stranieri, Perugia (USP). CELI 1 gives proof of elementary language competence and is, like all Perugia diplomas, internationally recognised.

Examiner: The Università per Stranieri, Perugia (USP) is the oldest and most reputed institution in the field of Italian teaching. The CELI exams were introduced in 1993.
